About Arizona

Arizona is a bright, bubbly 3-year-old with a taste for mischief!

Because his brain didn't form properly in the womb, doctors told us

Arizona may not survive beyond birth.

This kid heard that and said well shit, challenge accepted!

Not only did Arizona survive, but he is SMASHING life! He's a smart, funny,

musical, curious, and totally scrumptious soul. While Arizona will be a lifelong wheelchair user and rely on equipment to stand up, his therapists think we could

get him sitting up without support. This would be life-changing but will need

weekly therapy. At £131 per week, we can't afford this on one wage.

But for Arizona's future, we can't afford NOT to do this therapy.

And because music is his favourite thing,

what better way to fundraise than by celebrating

the incredible musicians right on our doorstep?!

Who's playing?

Sheila Lord is a singer / songwriter from Southend-on-sea. Formed somewhere between picking up her dad's guitar and being told she looked like Noodle from Gorillaz, she strums and picks at her acoustic Taylor while blues-ily musing along.

Kev Butler and Dave Crawford's music draws on influences across the Folk, Country, Americana and Rock genres. Each with their own unique sound, as performers they complement each other with heartfelt harmonies against an acoustic backdrop of strummed and picked guitars, augmented with the occasional mandolin and banjo.

The crew consists of around a dozen mature individuals who enjoy each other's company, singing rousing chorus songs (particularly shanties) whilst toasting their health in real ale drunk from pewter mugs.

The Owl Service is an Essex-based alternative folk music collective formed in 2006 by multi-instrumentalist Steven Paul Collins. Named after the 1967 novel by Alan Garner, their repertoire is mostly traditional British folk music, but always delivered from left-field - and their records have received much praise for their warm, timeless sound.

Where will the proceeds go?

Private physiotherapy

We are fundraising primarily

to pay for Arizona's intensive

physiotherapy sessions, which

cost £131 per week.

Thanks to the generosity

of others, we've managed

to keep the cost of holding

Arizona Rocks! very low -

so that as much money as possible

can go back into Arizona's savings account.

This money is used solely for these weekly sessions

with our wonderful team from Kids Therapy Works.

with complex or incurable

conditions across Essex.
